30 years of the internet has transformed the lives of 5 billion people globally. That includes people of all genders, from over 500 ethnic backgrounds.
Yet, the pioneers behind the internet we know today, did not reflect the diversity of this population for whom internet access is now a basic human right.
How different would the internet be if more women and minorities had been involved in the early days, influencing the evolution?
Web 3.0 is the next phase of the internet, and currently, just 19% of people involved in it are women, even fewer from diverse ethnic backgrounds.
Gold Bangle Club is here to bring together a community in the early days of Web 3.0, so you can feel confident about being part of this next evolution of your basic human right, and have fun doing it!
We’re on a Web 3.0 learning journey, and the further we dig, the more we discover. We’ll always be honest and share everything we discover - the good, the bad and the ugly.
Gold Bangle Club started with three curious women asking lots of questions about something new. We definitely aren’t alone in our exploration, so we are building a community where you can feel safe exploring Web 3.0 with us.
Gold Bangle Club is the network we didn’t realise we needed. You’ll be part of an inclusive community, learning and developing knowledge and skills together, as well as making lifelong friendships and having fun along the way!
With a background in finance and consulting, Hamisha’s vision for Gold Bangle Club materialised after finding herself immersed in the world of Web 3.0 during dinner table conversations with her husband. While the NFT market was growing quickly, targeting techies, investors and celebs with quirky profile pics, she wondered, why aren't there more people like me here? So she decided to take matters into her own hands.
Rakhee's heritage lies in social purpose, issues based and behaviour change campaigning. She's passionate about reaching harder to engage, marginalised groups. In a nutshell, if a campaign has the potential to better someone's life, that's what gets her out of bed in the morning. Rakhee discovered the world of Web 3.0 at the tail end of her maternity leave whilst pondering ‘what next?’ She was quickly sucked down the rabbit hole and hasn’t come up for air since.
Formally a legal and finance guru, Nirali took the plunge making her passion for art her livelihood in 2021. She met Hamisha and Rakhee after showcasing her stunning works online. Her mission is to empower change through her art, and by creating art for causes, she believes we can all use art to make our future brighter and more colourful.
